Movie Aasai is a Tamil film starring Ajith Kumar and Suvalakshmi. It was an immense hit and launched the careers of Ajith and Suvalakshmi. It helped shape Ajith's film career a lot. It won the Filmfare Best Movie Award South in the year of its release. 

The story goes around Suvalakshmi, who is one of the two daughters of an orthodox family. The film starts off when Yamuna (Suvalakshmi) comes to Madras from her studies. Major Madhavan (Prakashraj) is the husband of Yamuna's elder sister, and it was love at first sight for him. But Suvalakshmi fall in love with Ajithkumar.
